How to Use Video Product Tours to Increase Sales

The Internet holds vast opportunities for businesses to connect with target markets. However, the sad reality is that only a small portion of companies are utilizing these online opportunities. If you offer products or services and haven’t yet created video product tours for your company’s website, you’re missing out on a prime opportunity to connect with online audiences and increase sales. The following are reasons why video product tours are so effective and how to effectively create them.

The Power of Online Videos

People commonly associate online videos with individuals trying to achieve fame by recording reckless stunts. However, a much more professional realm of online videos exists – the use of product tours to connect with potential customers. Today’s consumers want to quickly access information on their own time rather than contacting a sales rep regarding products and services. By featuring product video tours on your company’s website, you’ll offer an outlet for tech-savvy consumers to gather the information they need.

Creating the Tours

There’s no set rule regarding the features you should include in online video product tours. Rather, the industry you serve and the complexity of your products will likely guide how detailed you should make the tours. Many screen recording and video editing software programs are available online for affordable costs and some are even free to download. A key point to keep in mind is that the videos should be concise, informational and high quality. By remembering these features, you’ll impress potential customers by creating effective tours.

When is it Safe for Your Kids to Start Using the Internet

The thought of their child beginning to use the internet is a scary thought for most parents because the Internet is not always a safe place. However, the Internet is an absolutely invaluable asset that kids will have to master for school and social networking. So it is important to ask yourself when your child will be old enough to use the Internet responsibly.

In most cases, children will be introduced to the internet at their school library if they have not been introduced to the internet at home. Teachers will have computers available for online research giving kids the option to use the Internet for book reports of projects. If your child has mentioned that they are using the internet at school then it is probably ok for your child to start using the internet at home as well.

However, there is a difference between your child using the internet for school research and building a facebook or myspace page. While building social networking profiles are a great way for kids to stay connected there are risks with allowing your kids to have a page. The best thing that you can do in this scenario is to talk with your child about why they want to create the page, who they going to be talking to, and what they are going to have posted on their page. It is also wise to create your own page and become a friend of your child’s that way you can see exactly what they are doing online.

Should Kids be Allowed to Download Music and Media From the Internet?

Image via Wikipedia

Music and media are so ingrained into the lives of children today that it seems we interact more with younger generations through their Facebook page than we do through actual conversation. However, the world of the internet and the multimedia art that the internet has is a new world to parents who can barely keep up with their children’s ability to download music and videos.

If your child is interested in downloading music or videos from sites the best thing that you can do is see what your child is wanting to download. Remember that music has been form of self expression for a long time and children might be able to express what they are going through better with music than they could just talking with you.

If you are concerned about what your child may get into on the internet set rules for the sites that they can download from. You can also have them ask you if it is alright to download a certain song that way you know exactly what they are listening to. If you are unfamiliar with the song or are concerned about the lyrics you can get written copies of the lyrics at certain websites to determine if the song is appropriate for your child.

Videos can be more controversial. Many videos are passed around the web because they are shocking. However, remember that entire careers have been made by young kids singing on YouTube, so do not jump to conclusions and outlaw all video downloading. Set rules for what is acceptable and what is not to download so that your child knows what is appropriate.

Many people know that companies post job listings online. In fact, more companies post job listings online than they do in the newspaper. However, browsing through the wantadds online is not the only way that you can utilize the internet to find a job.

Many job search sites allow companies who are posting a job to fill out a profile for the person they are hoping to hire and the reverse is also true. Job search sites will allow you post your profile so that employers can be matched with your profile and consider you for employment. These profiles are a great way for employers to get information about you before actually interviewing you. Companies are able to see your resume as well as any examples of work that you have available for them to view.

There are also sites where you can build profiles of work that you have done in the past that you can link to your resume that way if you are applying for a job you can show future employers what you have done in the past. These sites are great for people who work under contract or who work freelance. For example, if you freelance web design or build websites you can link to products that you have created.

Another way to use the internet is to manage your social networking sites with future employers in mind. Many employers admit that they look up a future employee on facebook or myspace before making their ultimate decision. With that in mind, social networking sites are a great way to show what you are interested in and what is important to you.

Defining Multimedia Art

You have probably heard the the term ‘multimedia art’ but the term can be applied to a variety of art and what is considered multimedia art can get a little confusing.

Basically, by definition, multimedia art will include more than one type of medium. Multimedia art is a pretty new and contemporary art because the mediums that are commonly used were only invented recently. Multimedia art will usually include a classic form of art like sculpture, painting, or any other form of visual art and combine it with another type of medium like music, video, or installation art.

Multimedia artwork is known for the way that it engages multiple senses. Unlike classic art that commonly only viewed, multimedia art can include things that stimulate the other senses from taste, to sound, to touch. Because multimedia can engage the senses it is a fascinating and intriguing way for artists to express themselves

Multimedia art may be a new form of artwork but many people think that this new form of artistic expression is not on the same level as classical artistic expression. However, there are certain traditional genres like opera and film that are multidisciplinary, even if they are not considered multimedia since they only involve sight and sound. Therefore, multimedia expression is not something to scoff at, it can be beautiful and engaging at the same time.

Artist who are involved in multimedia art are usually integrating types of media together that have previously not been combined to create art. Rather than simple dismiss this contemporary art, give it a try.

4 Reasons Why Android Tablets are better than the iPad

Image via Wikipedia

Having a tablet PC is a different world than having a computer. But at the same time, it’s a good deal different from having a cell phone. It’s somewhere in that weird, gray- or perhaps very brightly colored- area between those two formerly-separate worlds. There are some serious reasons why the Android tablet OS is better than what is on the iPad. Let’s take a look at four of them.

First off, the notification system has been an annoyance on the iPad for awhile now. Now that Android has offered up a less-obtrusive notification system, you can actually use your tablet PC for something you want to do, as opposed to simply adding popup notifications to your chore list.

Another great thing about Android is that it allows far simpler multitasking than the iPad. You can just click once on a tab and open it right up, allowing you to rapidly swap between activities. It really shouldn’t be hard to do in this day and age.

Another reason an Android tablet rules is that the Android store doesn’t make you sync up anything. You just buy your apps, send them to your tablet, and you’ve got them. It almost couldn’t be any simpler, as opposed to the annoyance that is iTunes.

If you need another reason why you should consider the Android first, consider cameras. Right now, the iPad doesn’t even have one, so it makes sense that their built-in app for handling such a device is pretty basic. But you need more than just a shutter to run a camera and Android has a real, robust camera program right now.
